At 5:05 a.m. on Thursday, the National Weather Service released an updated frost advisory valid for Friday between midnight and 7 a.m. for Bergen, Essex and Union counties.
The weather service says to prepare for, "Temperatures as low as 33 degrees will result in frost formation."
"Frost could harm sensitive outdoor vegetation. Sensitive outdoor plants may be killed if left uncovered," describes the weather service. "Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold."
