One person died and five others were injured in a Wednesday morning crash on U.S. 385 in eastern Colorado, according to the state patrol.
Two teenage boys were airlifted to Denver-area hospitals after the crash, which happened at about 11:40 a.m. Wednesday north of Burlington, according to a news release from the Colorado State Patrol.
Burlington is a town in Kit Carson County, about 12 miles from the Colorado-Kansas border.
Investigators believe a 2001 Ford Focus with five teenage boys inside was stopped on U.S. 385, waiting to turn left, when a 21-year-old woman driving a 2018 Jeep crashed into the back, state patrol officials said in the release.
The crash sent both cars off the road and into a nearby field, according to the agency.
