Aside from the heated race for New Jersey’s next governor, Election Day 2025 brought many smaller-scale races throughout the state.
One notable race was for Atlantic City’s mayor. It ended with the reelection of Democratic Mayor Marty Small Sr., who beat his opponent Republican Naeem Kahn in a 62% to 38% vote.
Marty Small was first elected during a special election held in 2020. His predecessor, Frank Gilliam, resigned the position after pleading guilty to wire fraud.
As Marty Small prepares to begin his new term in January, he'll also be prepping for another major event — his upcoming trial.
