In a shocking incident, a Booth Level Officer (BLO) was attacked by a pet dog while visiting a house in Kerala’s Kottayam to distribute voter enumeration forms as part of the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.

The woman officer sustained injuries to her face and neck after the dog bit her multiple times.

The woman, who is among the 171 BLOs assigned in the Kottayam constituency, claimed that house owner released the pet dog on her after she visited there to distribute enumeration forms.

“I was on SIR duty in Pakkil, Kottayam. While on duty, I was bitten several times by a dog. The injuries are making it hard to continue the survey," she said as quoted by news agency ANI.
