CAROLINA FOREST, SC (WMBF) - Properties in Carolina Forest have been seized by federal authorities as part of an investigation this week.

Horry County Sheriff’s Office deputies served civil forfeiture notices to five properties in Carolina Forest as part of a multi-million-dollar seizure by the FBI and the US Attorney’s Office.

The seizure is related to money laundering by foreign terrorist organizations, according to the sheriff’s office.

FBI spokesperson Kevin Wheeler confirmed that no arrests were made.

Wheeler also says that this is an “ongoing matter.”
