Star Indian wicketkeeper-batter Richa Ghosh has been inducted into the Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s leadership group, with the franchise clearly stating that they see her as someone with ‘leadership potential’. The 22-year-old does not have any captaincy experience.

On Thursday, Richa was among the four players retained by Bengaluru for the upcoming season of the Women’s Premier League. She was retained for Rs 2.75 crore, just one rung below skipper Smriti Mandhana, and above star Australia allrounder Ellyse Perry.

Richa played a crucial role in India’s recent ODI World Cup win, as she finished with the highest strike rate among the top run-getters in the tournament.
