WASHINGTON COUNTY, Va. ( WBRC ) - A Homewood man is facing felony charges after a high-speed chase with police in southern Virginia.
At around 11 a.m. Wednesday, a Washington County Sheriff’s deputy clocked Muhammad Camara, 20, of Homewood, travelling at 107 mph in a 70 mph zone along Interstate 81.
Camara, driving a Honda Accord, damaged several pasture fences when he tried to exit the interstate, according to authorities in Virginia.
He crashed the car while trying to get back on the interstate and ran on foot, crossing multiple lanes of traffic and jumping fences.
He was eventually taken into custody without further incident after authorities conducted a coordinated search of the area.
