The Liverpool Legends bring the Beatles to the Outer Banks

Performing songs from the 1964 Ed Sullivan Show performance.

The Liverpool Legends, brought by the Outer Banks Forum for the Lively Arts for a Nov. 1 performance at First Flight High School, come about as close to what the Beatles would sound like in concert as any four musicians. Their harmonies were spot on and lyrics very clear, although their vocals seemed a bit strained at times. The arrangements were true to the original and played with precision and confidence.

On February 9, 1964, with a simple “Ladies and gentlemen, the Beatles,” famed TV variety show host Ed Sullivan ushered an era in the U.S. that has continued to this day.
