With the clink of custom cans and pint glasses, toasts are going off to 30 years of great beer at Toledo’s first microbrewery.
Maumee Bay Brewing Co., housed in the 166-year-old Oliver House, first opened as a brewpub in 1995.
“I don't think that I have had a conversation with very many people that don’t have a story about Maumee Bay,” General Manager Danielle Perkins said. “They worked here. We have apartments upstairs. People have lived here. They had their first date here. They got engaged here. Lots of great stories.”
The main building and the warehouse will be filled with musicians, giveaways, and beers for the anniversary party on Sunday. Local historians will also share the history of the building.
The celebration runs from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. at 27 Broadway St.
