MONROE, La. (KNOE) - If you won’t be in town for the Nov. 15 election and cannot be the polls during early voting, you must request an absentee ballot no later than Nov. 12 at 4:30 p.m.
Election officials advise people to request their ballot earlier to make sure they have time to make their choices and return the ballot.
Absentee ballots must be back in the office no later than Nov. 14 at 4:30 p.m.
Ballots can be mailed back, but if it will not arrive in time through the mail, they can be dropped off in person.
For an absentee ballot, you must sign the ballot, have a witness sign and have your mother’s maiden name.
When you visit the voter portal online, you can see where your ballot is in the process.
Also, early voting is happening until Nov. 8.
