UPDATE: Friday, November 7, 2025 @ 12:00 PM | ROCK, WV (WVNS) -- More information was released about an officer-involved shooting in Mercer County on Thursday, November 6, 2025.

According to a press release from the West Virginia State Police, a report came in of a man who was reportedly laying in the road after he was allegedly shot. Once on scene, Troopers were told that the victim, identified as Randall Mabe, 80, of Rock, was allegedly shot by his brother, Fredrick Mabe, 72, of Rock.

The victim said his brother has run back in the home and had barricaded himself inside with a handgun. Multiple response teams arrived on scene and surrounded the home before Fredrick Mabe began shooting at Special Response Team members.

According to the press release, Mabe was then killed by return gunf
