City and county officials gathered on Wednesday to mark the completion of the Semmes Senior Center Walking & Fitness Trail expansion, which added new outdoor recreation amenities and extended the facility’s paved loop to a mile.

The project, led by Mobile County District 2 Commissioner Connie Hudson, includes new fitness equipment, shuffleboard, and pickleball courts along the upgraded ADA-accessible trail located behind the center. Hudson said the improvements build on the county’s investment in accessible recreation and community wellness.
