While ZZ Top is recharging, co-founder Billy Gibbons is bringing his solo band to Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort’s Avalon Theatre in February.

One of the most acclaimed blues rock guitarists ever, Gibbons opened for Jimi Hendrix in the late ’60s with his former band, Moving Sidewalks, before forming ZZ Top in 1969 with bassist Dusty Hill and drummer Frank Beard.

They went on to make several classic albums, hitting their commercial peak with 1983’s “Eliminator.” They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004.

Gibbons kick-started his solo band in 2015, putting out three blues-based albums since.

The show is Feb. 4 at the 1,500-seat Avalon Theatre.
