The 2025 federal budget is “very expensive” and will continue to drive up the cost of living for Canadians, according to Portage-Lisgar Member of Parliament Branden Leslie.
Reacting to the government’s spending plan, the Conservative MP said the budget failed to deliver the affordability constituents were asking for, opting instead for an “incredibly high amount of inflationary spending.”
“We were asking for an affordable budget and we got the opposite,” Leslie said. “We’re looking at nearly a $78 billion deficit this year, and to put that in context, that’s nearly $10 million in new debt every single hour.”
