The Clinton Dark Horses continued their postseason march Wednesday night, shutting out the Bunn Wildcats 4-0 at home in the second round of the 4A NCHSAA state soccer playoffs. Clinton wasted no time setting the tone, striking early and piling on three unanswered goals before halftime to take full command at 3-0.
The Dark Horses added one more score after the break and locked in defensively the rest of the way, finishing off the shutout and advancing into Round 3 behind a complete, dominant effort end to end.
Senior striker Holden Spell also made program history in the win – scoring his 36th goal of the season, officially breaking the all-time single season scoring record at Clinton High School.
