While National Move Over Day came and went last month, AAA and local law enforcement want to remind the public that the need to slow down and move over a lane for emergency responders and others on the side of the road is constant.

“It’s a constant struggle we have for sure,” St. George Police Officer Tiffany Mitchell told St. George News. “I was on I-15 last night, and it is scary to be on the freeway — speeds of people just zooming right past you. It was terrifying, and it was sad for me to see that hardly anybody moved over.”

In a nutshell, the Move Over Law is a rule that requires drivers to move over a lane or slow down when approaching any vehicle with flashing lights stopped on the roadside.
