One person died following a vehicle collision with an Amtrak train in Gautier Thursday night.

Mississippi Highway Patrol spokesperson Landon Orozco told Lagniappe Friday morning a passenger vehicle collided with a train on Ladnier Road in Gautier, where the roadway intersects with the Amtrak Mardi Gras Line. The driver of the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene, and no other injuries were reported.
