SALEM, Ore. - Oregonians are set to receive a tax surplus credit, or "kicker," following a confirmed $1.41 billion revenue surplus for the 2023-2025 biennium.
According to the Oregon Office of Economic Analysis (OEA), this surplus will be applied as a credit on 2025 state personal income tax returns, filed in 2026. The credit will either increase state tax refunds or decrease the amount owed, but won't be issued as a check. Only those who file both 2024 and 2025 returns are eligible. The credit equals 9.863 percent of the 2024 tax liability, as certified by the OEA.
Taxpayers can calculate their kicker using the "What’s My Kicker?" calculator on Revenue Online. For more details on claiming the kicker, visit the Oregon Department of Revenue's website.
