In his Nov. 6 op-ed, “Let the natural experiment in Democratic governance begin,” Adam Lashinsky laid out “two possible futures of the Democratic Party.” Did he mean to imply the approaches of San Francisco Mayor Daniel Lurie and New York Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani are mutually exclusive? He acknowledged that both political novices could succeed, but the unmistakable question we are hearing after Tuesday’s elections is who or what will define Democrats moving forward.
Is this really the future of the Democratic Party?
