Topline:
Why it’s been closed: The park was closed 10 months ago after the Palisades Fire ripped through the land, damaging lush greenery, trails and destroying the Will Rogers ranch house. Officials have been restoring the park while the land became a temporary non-hazardous debris processing site.
About the event: The park is open from 8 a.m. to sunset. The activities include guided hikes, lawn games and free coffee and ice cream. Parking is limited, so get there early!
Know before you go: After Saturday, Will Rogers will be open daily. Only certain trail segments and spaces are available for now, such as Polo Field and the main lawn. The Inspiration Loop trail is only partially open — while the Backbone and Rivas Canyon/Temescal trails remain closed.
