Expectant parents in western P.E.I. are being asked to call ahead before they arrive at the hospital in Summerside to deliver their babies next week.
Health P.E.I. said in a news release Friday that upgrades to Prince County Hospital’s operating room will take place from Monday, Nov. 10 until Tuesday, Nov. 11.
“During this time, no scheduled or urgent surgeries will take place. Emergency surgeries will be assessed on a case-by-case basis by clinical teams,” reads the release.
“Parents-to-be in Prince County are asked to call ahead to the Prince County Hospital before arriving to deliver their babies.”
Parents should call PCH’s maternal child-care unit at 902-428-4490 beginning the evening of Nov. 9 until the end of the day Nov. 11 for advice before arriving at the hospital with needs r
