The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office has identified the man killed in a Central City shooting earlier this week.
New Orleans police found the victim suffering from at least one gunshot wound around 3 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of Willow Street and Jackson Avenue, about a block from the busy South Claiborne Avenue thoroughfare.
EMS pronounced the victim dead on the scene. The coroner's office identified him Friday as 41-year-old Carl Jones.
Police arrested a juvenile near the scene on Tuesday, but NOPD said it was not related to Jones' killing.
NOPD has not yet released if it has made any arrests connected to the homicide.
