The province has unveiled its 11-person class size and complexity task force, which will be co-chaired by Alberta Premier Danielle Smith and Education Minister Demetrios Nicolaides.
At a Friday press conference, Smith said the cabinet committee will be made up of ministers, school board superintendents and a representative from the Alberta Teachers’ Association. Teachers will not be on the task force. Instead, the province will set up a separate teacher advisory council.
“I look at this as a continuous improvement and a continuous approach that we’re going to have to take to make sure that as we continue to face these pressures, that we have the resources there to take care of them,” Smith said.
