SALT LAKE CITY — An outage in Salt Lake County left nearly 20,000 people temporarily without power on Friday. According to a Rocky Mountain Power outage map , the issue mostly impacted residents in Holladay and Millcreek.
Rocky Mountain Power said the outage was due to the loss of a substation.
"We are aware of a power outage affecting 18,521 customers in Salt Lake County," the company posted on social media.
By about 3 p.m., the company said power had been restored to many households, but 5,537 remained without power. The estimated time when the issue should be resolved is 10:30 p.m., Rocky Mountain Power said.
