A blade on one of the windmills off Head of the Bay Road bordering Bourne and Plymouth was thrown to the ground on Friday, November 7. A resident reported that the blade landed near a residential area, but fell into a nearby cranberry bog.
Buzz Sequeira of Head of the Bay Road said he became aware of the turbine blade in the bog around 1:30 PM to 1:45 PM on Friday. Sequeira suggested that the windmill might have been affected by the high winds in the region over the last couple of nights.
“I have heard them creaking,” he said.
Sequeira said the blade landed in a cranberry bog that is located close to a rental home in the area. He also noted that workers had just finished harvesting the bog last week.
“Fortunately, they weren’t out there harvesting the berries when the blade came off,”
