It’s amazing how volleyball continues to grow on me as a sport, even after all these years. I had the pleasure of watching three matches this week at the Class 2A Benton Sectional. All three impressed me.

The first semifinal match on Tuesday featured Carterville — the second-best team from the Ohio Division of the River-to-River Conference — against Carmi-White County, the best team from the Black Diamond Conference East Division, and according to our SI Poll, the best team in Southern Illinois... period.
