SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — The Utah Department of Transportation will be closing some lanes and ramps on the I-215 West Belt starting tonight.

According to the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT), there will be several lane closures on I-215 between SR 201 and north of Interstate 80 starting Friday, November 7 at 10 p.m. and ending in the morning of Monday, November 10.

Crews will also be shifting I-215 traffic to the northbound lanes, on the I-215 West Belt. According to UDOT, this is a major milestone and "this shift will allow crews to focus their efforts on building the southbound side of I-215 more efficiently."

Like with all construction projects, this may be subject to change based on weather conditions. However, travelers in the area should expect delays and construction crews
