A woman told Gary Police that Corey Jones raped her in a senior apartment bathroom after she declined to perform a sex act with an older man there for $10.

Jones, 43, was charged Wednesday with two counts each of rape, criminal confinement, domestic battery, one count of strangulation and one count of intimidation. He is in custody, held on a $12,000 cash bond.

His next court date is Nov. 12 before Judge Gina Jones.

Officers responded on Nov. 3 to Broadway Avenue after the woman called police. She was “emotionally distressed,” Det. Sean Melendez wrote.

She told investigators that Jones, her boyfriend, choked and raped her in a third-floor apartment at the Gary Housing Authority’s Al Thomas Senior High Rise on the 100 block of W. 11th Avenue.
