Kings County is having a change of plan for its next sheriff.

The Kings County Board of Supervisors announced Friday that David Putnam will become the next sheriff instead of Rick Bradford, who is retiring from the sheriff’s office.

The backstory: Two months ago, the Board of Supervisors appointed Bradford, who serves as the Undersheriff, to the county’s top law enforcement job to replace Sheriff David Robinson, who is retiring. • Bradford has been with the Kings County Sheriff’s Office since 1995.
