GLENS FALLS, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A general contractor in Glens Falls is ensuring families impacted by the government shutdown don't go without food. Funky Solutions has started a volunteer-run food drive to support those who aren't receiving federal aid.

The food drive began a week ago and has already helped nearly 40 families. Donations are collected, then matched with people in need through a Google form. Volunteers deliver when possible.

"It's really just based on if you can make it here, you are welcome to it. And if we have a volunteer willing to drive it out that far for delivery, then we'll see what we can do to coordinate," Funky Solutions Josh Funk said.

The business said this effort his home, and they'll keep it going until SNAP benefits return.
