MANKATO, Minn. — Bowling Green State University’s hockey team tied the game at 4 with a late goal in the third period, but after a pair of extra periods and four shootout rounds, it was host Minnesota State earning the victory Friday at the Mayo Clinic Health System Event Center.

The Falcons, using an extra attacker, scored the equalizer with Noah Morneau finding the back of the net with 1:03 remaining. Brayden Crampton and Dominik Rymon added assists.

The two teams scored a combined five goals in the opening period.

First it was BGSU going ahead 2-0. Connor Levis, with Breck McKinley and Brett Pfoh assisting, scored the game’s first goal 2:36 in. Then Adam Zinka’s goal, assisted by Tyler Hotson, doubled the margin at the 5:37 mark.
