The National Fire Protection Association reports that more home fires occur during the winter than any other season. As temperatures start to drop, be fire smart during the coldest months of the year. Here are four tips to help prevent fires during the fall and winter.
1. Keep heat sources away from flammable objects. Put at least three feet of space between furniture and home décor items and heat sources like fireplaces, radiators, space heaters, and vents. Place all real and artificial plants, including garlands, wreaths, and Christmas trees, three feet away from any heat sources to keep them from overheating or catching fire. Disposing of real plant decorations when they dry out will also help reduce fire risks. kAma] q6 >:?57F= @7 2AA=:2?46D A=F8865 :?E@ @FE=6ED] %96 }u!p C64@>>6?5D
