It has been confirmed police are working with local schools to identify suspects after power tools were used during an arson attack on a derelict Coventry hotel. Emergency services were called to the Allesley Hotel on Birmingham Road last Sunday (2 November).

It was the second time arsonists had attacked the building in less than fortnight . Both attacks come just weeks after police had urged parents to keep their children away from the site, which closed for good several years ago.

Coventry City Council has now confirmed those responsible gained access to the building, despite increasing security measures, with the use of power tools. CCTV footage has been captured and handed to police.
