COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - A deadly early morning shooting has claimed the life of a 30-year-old person.

According to the Columbus Police Department, the incident took place in the 1400 block of Boxwood Blvd (Azalea Ridge Apartments) early Saturday morning.

Officials report that the victim, Demetrious Wilkerson, was shot in the passenger seat of a vehicle in a drive-by multiple times.

Officials stated that the incident is being investigated as a homicide.

No arrests or suspects have been named in the ongoing investigation at this time.

CPD’s Violent Crimes Unit is leading the investigation.
