The town of Gilbert will commemorate Veterans Day with a public ceremony and classic car show on Tuesday, Nov. 11, at Water Tower Plaza in the Heritage District.
Presented by Salt River Project, the event will begin with a classic and custom car show from 3 to 5 p.m., followed by a Veterans Day ceremony from 5 to 6 p.m. Admission is free and open to all ages.
The ceremony will feature remarks from keynote speaker Chris Woodard, a longtime Gilbert resident and retired U.S. Army infantry major.
Woodard, who grew up in Chandler, served in the 2nd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment and later returned to Arizona to run Woodard Construction . He is an active member of the Gilbert Chamber of Commerce and American Legion Post 39, and previously served as chairman of the Gilbert Veterans Committe
