MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. (WSVN) – A Florida deputy was killed in the line of duty Friday.
Authorities in Miami-Dade County say 27-year-old Deputy Devin Jaramillo was shot during an attack while responding to a traffic crash.
Jaramillo was taken to a hospital where he later died.
“Our deputy, Devin Jaramillo, responded to a traffic crash, and when he responded there, he was brutally attacked, and he was murdered,” Miami-Dade County Sheriff Rosie Cordero-Stutz said.
Investigators say two individuals were detained and another person was found dead, although no details have been provided about what happened.
“He gave the ultimate sacrifice, his life, defending us, defending you, and we need to understand as a society and as a community that that is just unacceptable,” the sheriff added.
