WASHINGTON — A ground stop issued for Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport has been lifted, after placing another pause on travel plans for those traveling through D.C. on Saturday.
DCA is among 40 U.S. airports adjusting to new guidelines as air traffic controllers continued to work without pay during the government shutdown. U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy said that Reagan and other impacted airports would have to reduce 10% of their air traffic.
The federal government shutdown, the longest in United States history, began on Oct. 1.
Saturday's ground stop lasted about 1 hour and a half, ending at 10:30 a.m., according to the Federal Aviation Administration. Although the airport authority did not give specifics as to what caused the stoppage.
