MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Colorado didn’t find a win on Saturday, but it found a quarterback.
A strong start and a late touchdown sparked West Virginia to a 29-22 victory against the Buffs at Milan Puskar Stadium.
The loss eliminated CU (3-7, 1-6 Big 12) from bowl contention, but true freshman JuJu Lewis was solid in his first career start, giving some life to the CU offense and keeping them in the game all afternoon.
Lewis threw for 299 yards and two touchdowns, but it wasn’t enough for the Buffs, who lost their third in a row and will miss out on a bowl for the fourth time in five years. West Virginia (4-6, 2-5) won its second in a row.
