The first score in Iowa football vs Oregon was a strange one.
A snap over the head of Hawkeyes punter Rhys Dakin rolled to near his own goal line, and Dakin's attempt to kick the ball out of the back of his end zone was flagged for an illegal kick.
Since the penalty occurred in the end zone, it resulted in a safety and a 2-0 lead for the Ducks .
Iowa had trouble snapping to Dakin on the game's first punt as well. The punter made a terrific catch to stop it from going past him, but the delay in his kick caused it to be partially blocked and go out of bounds near midfield.
Rainy conditions are playing a significant role in today's game.
