Two inmates who walked away from a federal minimum-security facility in Crane River are back behind bars after a week-long search that ended with arrests in Winnipeg.
Police said the pair — 33-year-old Clifford Clinton Lamirande and 39-year-old Cory Jeffery Everett — escaped custody on October 30. Warrants were issued, and the Manitoba Integrated Violent Offender Apprehension Unit (MIVOAU), which includes officers from the Winnipeg Police Service and the RCMP, led the investigation.

Lamirande was the first to be found. Officers tracked him to an apartment complex in the 1200 block of Rothesay Street on November 1. He was arrested without incident and returned to custody.
