A two-vehicle crash on a highway north of Cochrane sent three people to hospital Saturday.

Cochrane RCMP say they responded to the crash between a tow truck and a white Hyundai sedan on the intersection of highways 22 and 567 northwest of Calgary at around 10:30 a.m.

Information officer Cpl. Troy Savinkoff tells CityNews two people were rushed to hospital via ambulance, and a third was lifted by STARS helicopter — all with serious injuries.

The cause is under investigation.

Traffic was redirected in all four directions, but the scene has been cleared, and normal flow has continued.

The location has been the site of several crashes over the years.
