LUBBOCK, Tex. (ABC4 Sports) - In its first game ever against a top-10 team as a top-10 team, #7 BYU looked completely overmatched in a 29-7 loss at #8 Texas Tech Saturday.
The BYU offense got shut out until midway through the fourth quarter, managing just 255 yards of total offense against the vaunted Red Raiders defense.
Freshman quarterback Bear Bachmeier completed 23 of 38 passes for 188 yards and a touchdown with one interception. Bachmeier was unable to get the ground attack going, rushing for just 12 yards on 11 carries.
Cameron Dickey rushed for 121 yards and a touchdown for Texas Tech, while Behren Morton threw for 219 yards and another TD as Texas Tech led throughout the game. J'Koby Williams added 77 yards on the ground for the Red Raiders.
