A widespread power outage is affecting large portions of Los Angeles on Saturday afternoon, leaving more than 100,000 Los Angeles Department of Water and Power customers without electricity, according to the utility.
As of about 1:30 p.m., LADWP’s outage map showed more than 100,000 customers impacted across Mid-Wilshire, Beverly Hills, Culver City and surrounding neighborhoods. The utility’s website displayed dozens of large outage clusters—each representing areas where more than 2,500 customers are affected—with repair crews assigned or already on scene.
The outage also appears to be impacting parts of West Los Angeles, where a KTLA staff member reported power went out at the Equinox Century City gym around 1 p.m., prompting staff to evacuate everyone inside as a precaution.
