Millions of Brits are still dangerously low on vitamin D – the “sunshine vitamin” vital for strong bones, muscles and immunity – according to a new research review by the Health & Food Supplements Information Service (HSIS). The HSIS research paper, Where Are We Up To With Vitamin, Mineral and Omega-3 Polyunsaturated Fatty Acid Gaps? published in the Food and Nutrition Sciences Journal, reveals shortfalls in key vitamins and minerals across the UK population, sparking concern among health experts.
