Jack Hendry insists Scotland owe it to the country to make sure they end the 28-year wait to reach a World Cup. ‌

With history beckoning in the next 10 days the defender says Steve Clarke ’s troops are hungrier than ever to book their spot at next summer’s showpiece. ‌

Scotland head to face Greece in Piraeus next Saturday where a point will be enough to set up a winner-takes-all showdown with Denmark at Hampden three days later. ‌

Failing that the safety net of the play-offs next March has already been secured.

But Hendry - who was only three the last time the nation made it to the finals - wants to clinch qualification in style.
