NORTH SIOUX CITY, S.D. (KCAU) — With the first snowfall of the season today, there wasn’t a better time to start getting in the holiday spirit.

Adams Homestead and Nature Preserve held their annual “Christmas at the Homestead” event today.

Folks were invited to take a step back in time to explore historic buildings decorated for the Christmas season.

The event featured treats, local vendors, and even a visit from the big man himself — Santa Claus.

Park officials say the winter weather made the day all the better.

“The snow hasn’t stopped anybody. Actually, it adds to the whole day — this nice, beautiful snow," said Park Manager Jodi Moats. "So far, people have been smiling and enjoying their visit with Santa Claus, doing some shopping, and just enjoying it, going back to the Homestead
