Nobody was injured in a fire seemingly caused by burning garbage on Sheridan Court, the Chattanooga Fire Department says.
Firefighters responded just after 4:15pm when they got reports somebody was potentially trapped inside.
Flames and heavy smoke emitted from the home as crews made an "offensive attack" through the front door.
Firefighters did not find anyone inside.
They went all the way through the house to find burning piles of garbage in the backyard next to the house.
Flames spread up the wall and into the attic, but everything was under control in about 15 minutes, CFD says.
No injuries were reported, and the cause is under investigation.
