WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Right guard was an area of concern during Ohio State football’s win Saturday at Purdue.
Starter Tegra Tshabola struggled to provide consistency for the Buckeyes, and with Josh Padilla — Ohio State’s third guard — unavailable due to injury, the nation’s top-ranked team had limited options.
Moving forward, though, help could be on the way with coach Ryan Day saying Padilla’s injury isn’t a long-term concern.
“We’re hoping to get him back next week,” Day said. “He didn’t make the trip, so ... we knew he’d be out. We’ll continue to look at it next week, but if he’s not back next week, he should be back in two weeks.”
