A resident of an apartment complex contacted the police department at 9:30 p.m. Oct. 12 to report seeing a car hit her neighbor’s parked car in the parking lot.

When officers approached the suspect’s car, they found a woman slumped over, face down, with two small children in the backseat. Officers called for an ambulance to evaluate the woman. She told a paramedic that she had been drinking tequila all day, according to a police department press release.

She was taken to Fairview Hospital for medical treatment, and her children were turned over to a family member.,

The 22-year-old Cleveland woman was charged with endangering children, operating a vehicle while intoxicated, and failure to control.
