AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - The James Brown Family Foundation is helping families in preparation for Thanksgiving.

Registration for the James Brown Turkey Giveaway opened Saturday to help families that may not be able to afford a turkey.

Those in need brought their ID, a current power bill, or proof of residence to register.

The president of the foundation talked about the need they’re seeing.
